Last night I went to Tis Coili, a pub with traditional Irish music, traditional Irish drinks, and a traditional Irish guy named Patrick who decided that this particular tourist needed to try each and every beer, wine and spirit that is brewed, distilled and fermented in the fine nation of Ireland. This morning I packed up and checked out of the Kenmare Bay Hotel for a trip around the Dingle Penninsula. The Dingle Penninsula is similar to the Ring of Kerry, but it features, among other things, a much sillier name.

Enough with the cities. On Saturday morning, we left Cork to see the real Ireland. The small towns. The rolling countryside. The sheep.

On Friday, we would rent a car and drive from Dublin to Cork on the wrong side of the road.
And so, for the first time since puberty, I lay awake in the middle of the night mentally rehearsing the act of driving.
